Jolin Tsai was born on September 15, 1980 in Hsinchuang, Taiwan, and she is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and businesswoman. She began her singing career by winning the champion in an MTV singing competition in 1998, and in the next year she released her debut album. The Queen of C-pop who never stops reinventing herself, she is a five-time Golden Melody Award-winner who has sold over twenty-five million records in Asia. Her acting career, however, is another story. In 2001, she made her acting debut as a guest appearance in the TV series, Six Friends. She followed it with guest appearances in two other TV series: Come to My Place (2002) and In Love (2002). Moreover, she scored a minor cult hit with the TV series, Hi Working Girl (2003), starring alongside Taiwanese actor Show Lo. In 2007, she played the title role in the film, Agent J, to further promote her album under the same title.
